Real threat from N. Korea?

Can any of you military experts weigh in on their actual capabilities to hit the US with a ballistic missile?

Not today, not in the next five or even ten years.
I am not a military expert, but I do understand their capability.
The entire brouhaha has nothing to do with potential attack on US. Our entire press are a bunch of incompetent press releases regurgitating nincompoops.
The premise is total BS....

No. Our us press is Acting like North Korea's personal propaganda campaign.

Anything larger than a bird that gets launched and looks like an ICBM will get so many missiles shot at it that it will go blooey. Just the usual helpless freak dictator bs

I can't help but wonder which NK general would be the first to put a bullet in Lil' Kims head if he ever did try a preemptive strike against the US or ROK. Of course that assumes the generals are even given bullets.

I often wonder why South Korea doesn't offer a billion dollars and and island for a 'Patriotic Korean" to reunite the peninsula. Do the deed, get out and enjoy the rest of your life!

Considering that military officers who displease the Great Leader suffer quite horrible fates ( one recent execution involved the mortar execution if the officer and his family), initiative is not possible.
Thus their actual war fighting ability is compromised . A. Schickelgruber made the same mistake towards the end.

Hmmm... if N. Korea decided to retaliate, do you think they'd have an easy time finding a loyal and obediant N. Korean assassin who could pass for a S. Korean?
