As $tevie aptly put it... the days of this spicy forum are likely numbered. Unless one of us is rich and wants to 'sponsor' it.
SO... what do we do... go out into the world a create a new one? A yahoo group or google thingy? Join an existing forum en masse? Or let it go... get on with life without it and reclaim lost minutes otherwise wasted on bickering? Descend upon AppleSwitcher? (Matt - are you here?)
How would you respond if told that we had one month to clear outta here?

I'm pretty sure my 'Friendly' link goes to some alternate universe, because I just don't get the "I never go there because it's so..." sentiment I hear on the Tips side.

Giving lack of revenue for closing down this forum is a poor argument. Just because there is lusty battle here doesn't mean the participants don't buy stuff. In fact, if you follow the reason police shows and action movies are so prevalent, a nice calming ad presenting a buying opportunity should attract MORE attention and clicks.
If I were selling ads for this place, that would be the pitch I would use. I spent a long time pushing product. It takes imagination to make a sale.

They have been numbered for a while. The forum ownership very likely sympathizes with the right wing foot soldiers who have been intent on making it go away, so they win.
Our collective mistake for taking up residence on a commercially sponsored site. I'm fairly certain the membership is too sedate at this point to consider another move, but I could be wrong.

On further thought, I would serve up the ads with a preface or maybe a border that says" One thing we all can agree on.."

Maybe it's a concentrated effort by apple switcher to get this closed down to improve membership there.
