And yet you still need an illinois firearm owner's license to own any firearm in Illinois. So if any of these 'legal' purchasers don't have one, the cops (who can see these interactions as well as the media wonks can) can hunt 'em down.

I'm not arguing that 'private sales' people are definitely skirting the requirement for a FFL for gun dealers. My point is that Illinois has very stringent gun laws, and Chicago even more so. All of which are NOT having an effect on the murder rate. I would expect that most Illinois gun murders are committed by killers who are not licensed firearm owners. No ?
