So what is Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin ® going to do when the President inevitably comes to Oklahoma?
Is she going to parrot the likes of Oklahoma Senators Inhofe ® and Coburn ® or take the tougher and more correct road of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie ®?
Opinions?

Governors govern. Governors in crisis remember who elected them, and use the opportunity to set aside party ideology. She will pull a Christie.
Or she'll be out of a job next election.

I doubt the survivors of this terrible storm care much what either Fallin or Obama does in front of cameras, as long as they get the help and support they need.
I think "natural disaster/crisis politics" are getting kind of old, there's a time and place for the backbiting and this ain't it.

This sounds an awful lot like "oh, it's too early to have a real discussion on gun control" in the aftermath of a tragedy like took place in... well, I was gonna single out Newtown, but any of plethora of gun-down locations could be chosen. Point is, there is no right or wrong time to point out the hypocrisy/politics. These things don't take a timeout to allow for it. Now is as good a time as any to point it out. If incidents like New Orleans, Sandy and now this don't provide enough of a backdrop to make a point then we really are too far gone. People can be both sensitive to a tragedy and still make a related point in hopes that change comes about.

we're talking about what politicians say in front of the camera to the victims in the aftermath of a disaster.
that's not the time and place for political payback or backstabbing or grandstanding, just get the help to where it needs to go.
THEN have the conversation about funding, or about why your state's Seantors in particular didn't want to help Sandy victims but now have their own hands outstretched. None of that should be said by the President or the Governor when they address victims of this latest tragedy, nor should they show political animosity towards one another in that moment, that would be just tacky.
that's the point - NOT whether or not we should discuss disaster funding at all. Geez.

Sorry Lemon. It was not my intent to change the subject. Apologies. I was referring to the original post, but I now see you mentioned the cameras in your post down the line. My misunderstanding. Realizing that now, I don't see it happening since I really can't recall another politician directly related doing anything resembling that at the time of such a tragedy in their area.

Well, now that we cleared that up, I want to say that the title of this thread could make a good song title, or maybe the first line of a song.
