Mike,
Too bad it isn't for the HEPA air filter used by my big Honeywell air purifier or the specialty filter system used by my RabbitAir air purifier.
I'd considered making a "ghetto" fan as described in the thread but changed my mind.
My dad, who is an engineer, overheard me talking about it with someone and warned against making one. A box fan isn't designed for use with a filter and would likely attempt to pull air through the path of least resistance and/or there is a good chance its motor would overheat while it tried to pull air through the filter. Either way, it's a good idea in theory but a bad idea in practice.

I remember a thread, quite awhile ago, that suggested just that, a box fan with some kind of filter attached to clear a room of dust.
I have a big problem with dust in my bedroom (lots of dust producing factors, including my Precious, a Goffins cockatoo), so I desperately need something highly effective and cheap, because money is extremely tight, right now
I've been experiencing more pulmonary problems than ever, lately, so my situation is pretty critical.
Was the suggestion in the previous thread wrong or will this idea really work?
I don't remember what filter was recommended in that thread, so I'd appreciate directions on how to make a super dust remover!!!
Thanks for any tips
