I was going to say call customer service and they will probably make it right. Still, give it a try but the Singapore purchase might be problematic.

I would send it in to LifeProof for a warranty replacement and see what they say. Singapore... Might have better knockoffs or maybe it was a factory second.
It's out of warranty now...almost two years old. Normally, SG does not have knockoffs in major chains, there's no real upside for them, they're already ripping you for every penny as it is!
As for contacting LifeProof, what will I do in the meantime without a case? It takes over a week for any package to fly back and then they need to decide and send something back here. *sigh*
Right now, looks like I will have to go through RobertM's list and order something.
I don't mean to be a downer on any of the suggestions but I feel that the age of the case and the shipping times are a bit of an obstacle to getting a free replacement from LifeProof.
Once again, I really do appreciate the generosity that everyone has shown in taking the time to offer suggestions. Heartfelt thank you to all of you.

Just get one of these and you're done. Will never go back to more expensive (or cheaper) cases again.
Ditto - the NuGuard from OWC is incredible.

Iron,
Do a search of the forum for "Robert M" and rugged case. I remember posting several links to lists of ruggedized cases. The typical response to most of them is "Boy, that thing is ugly!" or some variation. But, some of the rugged cases are pretty sharp and/or expensive, i.e. TakTik Extreme. That and each of the cases has their pros and cons.

I don't know if LifeProof CS will help you at all. But it won't hurt to ask.
When I got a replacement, they shipped the replacement first and let me ship back the old case afterwards.

Thanks, will do! The Extreme is probably off the list, shipping to SG from them is crazy expensive.

Again, I would be without a case for quite a while.

Well, it may not be the perfect case for you, but for $10 and in your hands in two days (assuming you have Prime), that Acase I linked above would get you through until you find one you really like. And I must say this thread has been a bit of an eye-opener. I realize everyone's tastes (and budgets) are different, but I couldn't imagine spending $100 (or $50...or even $30) on a case for a phone. Of course I pretty much keep mine in my pocket unless I'm actively using it.
