Where Do You Read?

Besides a comfortable place, my problem is my shattered attention span. Thanks internet!

Reading?
Oh, I read while standing and cooking, while eating, sitting or lying on the couch, lounging in a recliner, lying in bed (which is electric adjustable) or in the tub. I read library books, ebooks on the iPad, and newspapers on-line. No TV in this house (by choice) so reading does not present any problems. Reading in the bathroom? Of course!
The local library and I are best friends!

A lot of the time in the car--old Subarus have comfortable seats and few distractions. Also in bed with lots of pillows. And books at the goodwill are still fairly cheap.

Read on the bus - 1 hour each way: books, magazines, e reader or audio on iPod. Plus a lot of sleeping on the morning run...audio usually.

Read at work - audio on computer with headphones (which lets me annoy the PIA person at work since I can ignore her that way)

Read in the car: audio books for trips over half hour.

Read in bed: the key to "comfy" is to use lots of pillows behind you and one to prop reading material. Also having a heated waterbed is a plus (except when the power is out for more than two days - brrrrrrr)

Read in the bathroom - never.

I can no longer read in bed. Opening a book while prone is an instant sleep aid. Recently I've begun using the iPad, downloading from the local library and learning how to read that way has been amazing.

I love it. Given the choice, I'm not certain I'll ever crack a book cover again.

No TVs in our house, either... we read about an hour per night(in bed, lots of pillows) but I also read in the car whenever I am not driving Smile which equals another hour or so per day. All paper, no e-devices, a mixture of periodicals and library books. I'll read periodicals in the tub but nothing else. With the jets, paper is very likely to get wet.

I'm reading Paddle Your Own Canoe by Nick Offerman right now. I almost never read fiction but I'll pick up nearly anything else, including Mark Bittman's enormous cookbooks.

It has been claimed that will give you hemorrhoids.

I usually read for a few minutes before going to bed, lying on my back: paperbacks, Trains magazine, etc. Otherwise during the day I'm at the computer, where I read news, blogs, this forum (that is reading, right?) etc. Books too heavy to read in bed are piling up. I need to get away from the iMac and onto the sofa. . .
