We could set a daily record low temp on Thursday.

-19F predicted and the record low is -20. -15 predicted for Friday which will be 14 degrees from the record low but still cool for this late in the winter. We have had a cold winter but no record lows set yet. The high sun is warming almost every days' highs above zero. No warm up expected for at least a couple of weeks.

WTF? How do we end up with three pipe-freezing cold spells in one winter when the last one I can recall is 7 years ago?

Regarding a warm-up--- I'm OK with holding off on that as long as we don't have one of these false springs where things start to sprout only to be destroyed by bitter cold. And probably too much to ask, but as long as the roads aren't covered in 2" of ice for weeks on end.

Too early to celebrate  a record. Tomorrow we will get up to 13 (the week's high) and I'm going to take advantage of the warm day to do a little repair in my unheated garage on my snowblower to get ready for our next storm. It'll be windy and we have a blizzard warning for tomorrow with 50 MPH winds. Over two feet of snow on the ground, some from early December.

What's interesting is that those temps could be as low as temps that caused Minnesota schools to be closed earlier in the month. However, many districts have used up their extra days, and any additional days off will have to be made up before the school year is over.

Us too except we'll be slightly warmer due to being enclosed by the Great Lakes... Still, we have below zero temps coming and those @#$%^ wind chills.

I thint it hit 80 here today. Which is nice because that's the coolest it's been for a couple of weeks. Supposed to be a high of only 68 on Thursday and raining. Then back to 80 by Saturday.
