Looking for a relatively simple way to allow 100s to 1000s of users to edit their own pages (basically add photos and modify text).
Workflow needs to be something like this:
1. users submit an application with basic info
2. application assigned unique ID and added to database
2. username/password assigned
3. users login to add photos and modify the text from their application over time
4. database and pages are publicly read-only
I've used http://www.dadabik.org/ to create a quick database driven site but don't think managing a lot of users with editing privileges is all that easy or efficient.
Ultimately I guess some universal login for forum, etc. access would be good as well as some sort of user dashboard/portal where users would have easy access to their pages to edit as well as their forum posts and other content - but that may be pie in the sky thinking that is not really doable at this time.
I've considered Drupal or Joomla but I'm just not convinced either is the best tool for the job. Wordpress would be another option but I'm not sure what I'd need in terms of add-ons for the desired result.
BTW - this is a non-profit project so inexpensive to free is the best option. :-)
Any suggestions or other input would be greatly appreciated - thanks!
