Ringo Starr
The "5" Royales
The Paul Butterfield Blues Band
Green Day
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Lou Reed
Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble
Bill Withers
Guess I was wrong about N.W.A., but 2 out of 3 ain't bad!
Regardless of how one feels about the Hall, the show they put on is usually really good with some great music. Can't wait to hear the induction speech for SRV and listen to whomever jams with Double Trouble.

These 2, Lou Reed, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble -- yes!
The "5" Royales -- OK I had to Google them but despite the low output and limited market success do quickly recognize what they stylistically represent to pop music.
The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Bill Withers -- OK I guess.
I'm not seeing the rest being in the Hall, not even Ringo (as a soloist)

Glad to see Bill Withers being honored. One of my inspirations as a guitar playing singer songwriter. I do think there needs to be a more inclusive wording than Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as the inductees have included a much wider spectrum of music than what I think of as R&R. Guess the Popular Music Hall of Fame just doesn't cut it, though...

well, there are specific rules. If you meet the criteria, you are in, as far as I know. That's how LL Cool J got in recently. He met the criteria. I can't comment on his talent, but how he is linked to Rock n Roll is beyond me.

He said how he's linked. He got in because he's one of the all-time greatest rappers. A whole bunch of rappers "qualify."

I like Green Day OK, but it seems way too soon for them to get in, lots of other talented artists who've been around much longer.
Still can't believe Rory Gallagher hasn't been inducted (I'm not sure he's ever even been nominated?). He never got the attention in the US he deserved but he was an absolute sensation in Europe and many other parts of the world. The RRHOF is almost as lame as Rolling Stone when it comes to recognizing talent that wasn't "big" in the USA.

Rory has been gone a while now. My buddy and I saw him either in Oakland or San Francisco in the early 90's.

NOT a true Hall of Fame.
I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member.

Many, many groups and individuals are not HOF worthy. So sad. Lessens it for everybody.
