A client is in a pickle and needs a computer in the worst way. I offered to sell mine (MBP 2012 retina 2.6 15GB 512) for $1500 and that would subsidize the 2015 MBP that I have been wanting (I want more space and the ability to run a 4K monitor).
Anyone? What are your perceptions?

I've used a user's new 13" with the force trackpad on 3 different days and other than the first day when I recalled that it was the new technology, I forgot that it was anything other than a regular Apple trackpad. It may not be better than the old Apple trackpads but it certainly is not any worse IMO.

I've set them up for clients.
It makes a weird "hollow" kind of clicking sound that annoys me a bit and while setting it to the "firmest" level in the trackpad settings did provide a better "clicking" sensation I found that I was unconsciously pressing harder on the trackpad than usual and my fingers started to ache after awhile.

That's exactly what worries me about these. I can still do a two finger tap for right click - right? Pressing hard on unyielding surfaces is very bad for my fingers.

Yeah. No problem with taps and gestures.
My solution was to enable tap-to-click.

'Might be able to get over it. I only had a few hours on each of them. Over a few days you can learn new habits... Or run out and buy a mouse.

I used one briefly at the AS when it came out on the 13".
Seems okay, but my use was literally for a few seconds.
I listened to a podcast yesterday in which one guy was saying that it's not very good for precise work (he edits podcasts on Logic). Also said that click and drag was very difficult.

That part's BS. If you've mastered it on a regular Apple trackpad, it's exactly the same gesture.
