Amazing; the 2016 MBPs are going to no longer be state-of-the-art graphics as soon as HDMI 2.1 machines ship.

All those extra "K's" are wasted on them youngin's with them good eyes...
Some of us that can't appreciate 4K are gonna be harder pressed to figure out 8K.
The advancement in technology is a wonderful thing, but jeepers, this resolution thing seems more like a technical challenge to keep overcoming rather than a global benefit. I can see applications for high tech and medicine, but for the average user, not so much. No clue what it means to the gaming world, though intuitively it seems like you'd need a massive amount more GPU power, which once created seems like it could be better used on 2K or 4K platforms for whatever mega-action games that might be played. If they built it, someone you know will come.
