Bacons
#1
What is your favorite pre-cooked bacon? Wife is deeply veg so cooking it in the house is a no-go but dang I miss me some bacon. Costco has pre-cooked, but I've never tried it. Anyone with insight, please share. TIA.

This might be the most rewarding post I've read in days.

I did not know there was such a thing, or that Costco had any.

I await responses with bated breath, and lettuce, tomato, mayo, and lightly toasted sourdough bread.

No experience, but I've seen Tactical Bacon mentioned here before (mostly as a joke), but apparently it tastes pretty good.

The tactical bacon is far too expensive at $18 a can to actually EAT...
But rumor has it that Yoders canned bacon is responsible for the cans, whilst someone else slaps on the "Tactical Bacon" labels.

There's a *lot* of bacon in one can.

It's not that pricey if one is going to feed several people at 4-6 slices per.

There's a long self life for unopened cans, but no indication of how long the bacon lasts once opened and refrigerated.

Looks like a single serving to me. Smile

You may want to consider getting a new wife.

Could you make the bacon on the BBQ (very good) and keep the smell outside? Or perhaps cook a lot of bacon at one time and freeze it in snack bags?

argh, off topic but 2 bacons that are stellar..subtle on the salt aspect and flavor that rules.

Neuske's is wonderful..

Neuske's outta Wisconsin

There is a small joint in New Buffalo Michigan that is making THE most wonderful in house smoked bacon..this stuff is so incredible, it brings the drool. Incredible deep flavor..elegant, really. All their stuff is like this...They make some stellar sausages too..can't say enough about these people.

LOCAL New Buffalo, MI
