This is exciting. I am selling something on eBay, last time I sold was 5 years ago I think.

I can't remember when I had the last auction, I think it was five years ago. I am now selling an item that got some bids already, even if it closes at this price, I am still happy. yes, I didn't get my money back, but it turns out I didn't need this item and I get about 75% back. Still better than not selling!

It's fun to watch, isn't it. Just have to hope a zero or negative feedback loser doesn't swoop in at the last minute. These days I do most of my sales BiN ObO so I can screen the buyer to some extent.

Do you have to allow anyone to bid on something? You can't say that a certain amount of feedback is required before someone bids?

I don't feel like looking, but I think you can only block negative feedback buyers, not 0 or above.

Actually it sold for 2x more that it was just 1 minute before closing. Someone must have used one of those automtic bidding proxies.

It was $33.99 and jumped to $70.99

I already got payment and printed shipping label, will to go USPS in the morning.

I logged in to PayPal and I get this:

While you establish a successful eBay sales history, you may not have access to your money for up to 21 days. You may get it sooner, but it may take longer if your buyer reports a problem with the sale.

This is new to me.

EDIT: for those curious, it was an impulse buy some years ago, a pair of ECCO shoes at $39.99 with free shipping back then. I never used them. Now I got $70.99 - whatever ebay fees will come when they close the statement. it was a good "investment", LOL.

Congrats. "up to" is key here. Probably much sooner once tracking info is entered and the item shows 'delivered.'

If you can get those to fit in a small flat rate box you can save a trip to the post office and just drop 'em in the mailbox.

You mean minus shipping, ebay fees, and paypal fees. You might break even....

Are costs really that bad?

I have avoided selling on eBay because of the stream of escalating complaints that I've seen on the forum.

I have lots of "collectibles" to sell, but both the logistics (pictures and descriptions ) and the fees, particularly re shipping have stopped me.

I mentioned this before and had some offers for assistance, but hadn't felt well enough to follow up.

I sure need the money, right now, so if anyone nearby is up to it, please send me a PM.
