I think his point is that CX-7 in general is (was?) being considered "less reliable than Mazda sedans and hatchbacks" by other publications (consumer reports, online reviews, etc) but his particular car was trouble free.

Exactly. The CX-7 isn't considered one of the more reliable vehicles made by Mazda. Mine has be trouble-free despite that reputation. The CX-7 was replaced by the CX-5. Robert
