I wish people would quit harping on that. It's temporary, it is being corrected, and in the long run it's a better solution than that half-baked Constellation program that was cancelled a few years ago. It's true that we put all our eggs into the Space Shuttle basket, which never achieved the goals of reliability and economy. As a result a "cheap" human-rated booster was not developed.

Yeah, it's amazing what happens when the government axes your budget. People don't want to pay to send human beings into space.

God, what a night that was! I, along with tens of thousands of New Yorkers, waited in the rain in Central Park where giant screens had been set up. Neil Armstrong's walk was supposed to be around 9 PM Eastern Time but was delayed over three hours. When Neil finally stepped off that ladder onto the lunar surface, the crowd went nuts. :patriot:
