October 5, 2016: The United States has sent hundreds of SOCOM (Special Operations Command) troops into areas like Syria and Libya to support rebels fighting ISIL (Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant). The problem, according to the U.S. Army Special Forces troops involved, is that a lot of the “rebels” they are ordered to train and support with air support, medical care and so on are Islamic radicals who are likely to eventually join ISIL (Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant) or other similar hyper-violent Islamic terror groups. The Special Forces know what they are talking about because they speak Arabic and have been working with Arab groups for many years. But they are told to keep training the “approved” (by the U.S. State Department and other senior policy makers in the United States and Europe) rebels despite the fact that some of these men will eventually be discovered by the media fighting for some violently and actively anti-West Islamic terrorist groups and boast that they were “trained” by the United States.
Some Special Forces operators report that many of the trainees receive only half-hearted instruction, since the American instructors know for a fact that they are likely to encounter some of these trainees in the future. That has already happened but that sort of thing has not changed American policies.

This is why we are minimally in the region. The devil you know... But the trainers can quickly be shifted to Mosul, etc.

I know you don't like our involvement in Syria, but StrategyPage's assertion that Special Forces have come forward (to apparently only them, and against all likelihood ...) that they are knowingly training the enemy is a lie.

So there's a suspicion raised, OK.
Meanwhile, the likelihood of meaningful infiltration is, again, remote.
Meanwhile, wars don't get fought "cleanly." They never do.
Meanwhile, if the U.S. (um, and say, British) left Syria tomorrow, ISIS would not just wither as a result.

Yes, a few hundred SF trainers is how we started Vietnam. But Trump ? He just wants to go for the big kickoff right into World War III. With nukes, because those are 'cool' as well.

This is false. At least Trump understands that going to war with Russia and/or China is a very bad idea. Queen Hillary seems to be itching for war with Russia. Trump just wants to talk with Putin. I don't see what's so wrong with talking. Yeah sure, Putin is doing some stupid stuff, but Queen Hillary doesn't seem to understand that we really have no viable military options to deal with that.

Where are the quotes that show that Hillary is "itching to go to war" with anybody? And I don't mean quotes from pundits that say that.
And wasn't a big conservative talking point in almost every election ever that "Just talking" is a sign of weakness and appeasement? You know, the "diplomacy is for pussies" line of thinking. Now it's "I don't see what's so wrong with talking."

I don't like Hillary. I don't agree with her politics or proposed policies.
But Trump is gonna get us ALL killed. I can survive 4 years of a liberal activist president. I cannot survive a 2 megaton airburst.
