Everything You Need to Know About Iceland’s Pirate Party

Iceland’s Pirate Party is hoping to win the largest share of the vote in the country’s Oct. 29 general election, not even four years after the fringe political group formed.

Iceland has about as many people as my block. It's rather a fringe case.

It requires a thinking electorate willing to vote their conscience, not Koolaide swilling drones voting for lesser evil. For a "winner".

Lesser evil is still evil....

Actually, it requires a parliamentary style of government. And as Steve alluded to, a population of 300,000. And, as the article states, people who know that they aren't going to be able to govern as idealstically as their platform is outlined.

It's interesting that max is excited by the idea of a party that wants large state-spending on health, education and social welfare programs and wants the wealth generated by Iceland's natural resources to be placed under public ownership.
