iTunes PITA

iTunes v.12.5.2.35 on OS 10.12.1.
Added a disc to the Library and I want to burn a CD for a buddy of mine but it's in Recently Added, not as a Playlist so Burn Playlist To Disc is grayed out. How do I get it to Playlists? Can't drag and drop.

Select all the tracks from within Songs view and Create Playlist from selection? (Songs item in the sidebar).

I really dislike iTunes 12. Was just complaining to the Other Human about the somewhat random appearance of the Compilation designation, often inappropriate. Like one of three discs of a Mozart opera being a compilation for some odd reason. And do on.

In the Finder, Home (your User account)/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music. Find the song. Right-click on it and select Burn. Insert a CD and give it a name. Burn. Done.

what are the alternatives? I have read here about a few alternatives in iOS, but I don't recall much discussion about OS X alternatives to iTunes.
