The defender didn't make a play at the ball. If he had done so there probably would not have been the PI call.

That would have been pass interference playing in the backyard 40 years ago. Sorry, not even close to questionable. Atlanta played a great game until Brady happened.

Nope, the call was good. I'm for Atlanta, but can't make it any different than what it was. I think the coaches lost this game. Time clock, even I was thinking FIELD GOAL when Falcons had it at about 39 yard and kept passing. I thought, "Okay, now is the time to go ahead and put 3 more point up and seal this thing!" But, no, right after that is when QB was sacked, 5 yard penalty, etc., etc., we know the results. Yep, Monday morning QB here.

Yep, a field goal would have sealed it also. One of may of a multitude of mistakes that the Pats took advantage of.

Now the Falcons must feel like how the Vikings felt back in '98.

It's the last game of the season. Win? Immortalized. Second place? Fancy word for loser.

They lost it by not playing to win. They should've kept their foot on the gas. Once you start playing not to lose, rather than playing to win, you're vulnerable to exactly what happened.

....it depends how good your wingman is......he needs to know exactly who you will be making a pass at and when you call 'dibs'.......should back off......

Defensively, perhaps, as they eased up in the second half, went into a zone, and only rushed three.

Offensively, on that drive after Jones' catch that put them just outside the red zone, they could have settled for a FG for an 11 point lead, which would have made it a two score game, and all but sealed the deal in the 4th.

But, instead of running the ball to get into a better position, they kept on passing, had the sack, and penalty to knock them out of FG range.

Can't do that against a team like the Pats.

The game is 60 minutes for a reason… Boston clearly made the necessary adjustments at halftime, and Atlanta didn't make any, apparently.
