Getting PDFs into iPhone 4s

I dragged and dropped a pdf into books of iTunes, and then synced my phone.

The pdf does not show in Books on my phone.

The pdf does show up in iTunes, and I can open it there by double clicking it.

Did I do something wrong?

iOS 8.4.1

iTunes 11.4

in ibooks did you set it to show all or pdf only?

I've tried both ways.

Email it to yourself, then open it on the phone and save it to iBooks.

WTH. I thought iTunes was supposed to be the way to get content into a phone.

Another option is to use your Dropbox account. That's my favorite way to move PDFs into iBooks on my iPhone.
