Is Gorsuch going to get a Trump Tweet?
#1
He came out against the statements the Trumpster has made against the Appellate court. A no no, Gorsuch nominee. Shame on you.

I'm cynical enough to think he made those statements as a means of deflecting criticisms about his personal history and history on the bench. All he needs for confirmation is to keep the GOP in lockstep, no defections equal confirmation.

That would be refreshing!

Slightly related, Chris Cillizza's usual sniping, admittedly middle-school-level WaPo column today passes on the backroom whispers about Sean Spicer:

Why you should pity Sean Spicer

* White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus “vouched for Spicer and against Trump's instincts. The president 'regrets it every day and blames Priebus,' ” one source close to the hiring process told CNN's Jim Acosta.

* “Multiple sources have told CNN that Spicer was not Trump's first choice for press secretary. White House counselor Kellyanne Conway was offered the position but turned it down.”

* “A source familiar with internal communications said President Donald Trump is disappointed in Spicer's performance during the first two weeks of the administration.”

So, even if you fawn all over the Trumpster and lie your ass off, it still may not save your job. Gorsuch is playing with fire by so much as looking at Trump crosseyed.

Regardless of his personal political views, it appears that Gorsuch takes the judicial branch very seriously. And that he has some class and dignity. Trump must be regretting his choice.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who finds Cillizza's column awful.

Sorry, Donald, you have made your choice now live with it!

I agree. Unlike Donald, Gorsuch has some respect for the law and the position. Donald didn't look up these guys. A list was given to him and he threw darts. Donald doesn't know the first thing about vetting for himself….look at his cabinet picks.

Trump Slams Senator Who Revealed Gorsuch's Criticism Of Remarks On Judges

Republican Sen. Ben Sasse of Nebraska revealed even stronger comments by Gorsuch when they met. "He got pretty passionate," Sasse told MSNBC on Thursday. "He said, 'Any attack on any of' — I think his word to me was — 'brothers or sisters of the robe is an attack on all judges.'"
Whoa.
