Dad was an OB/GYN who was in the Air Force during Korea. He was stateside catching babies for a couple of years during the war. Mom was a nurse. They were as far from cool as could be, but they were great parents.

My father was a pool hustler in the clubs around town to make money. I never did anything like that.

Bwahahahah! I've seen the home movies of when my parents were young. Preacher's daughter, and USAF reserve officer. I swear he had that same haircut until he died. Now, HIS dad was a bad-ass.

I don't think my parents were cooler than I was... not that I would consider myself all that cool. Dad was a chemist, Mom was a housewife. My Dad grew up during the depression, so he did his darndest to make sure he was frugal with every penny. He'll be 90 this year, and is still the same. So while he had a good job that paid well, we didn't exactly have a privileged upbringing.

Even though I have lots of aunts and uncles, I've never heard any stories about anything "cool" that my parents did when they were younger.
