In my cars, I use the Dri Z Air dessicant tubs. Maybe 2 per car. Dump out in the spring, and refill them in the fall. Refills are cheap. I have glued them down to larger more stable plates of aluminum I scavenged from work so it's essentially impossible for them to tip over.
My partner's brother uses 3 in his 17' trailer and they do the job up here in Washington. He sits his in cheap Sterlite storage tubs in case they get sloshed.

Yeah, I've seen similar reports from other Casita owners. It's a cheaper solution, for sure.

NO energy costs involved. Up in Washington State, VERY humid mid-fall to mid-spring in RVs/Boats. Those Casitas/Cavemans, etc are very well sealed, and I imagine sweat too. Bad combo.
