Purely speculative question, of course. Remember the race was wafer-thin albeit in retrospect. Comey's Hillary investigation announcement may have saved Trump from the pssuy thing. Would stormy have been enough to counter Comey?

There was a hardcore movement behind Trump and a lukewarm voters for Clinton. Add in that everyone expected Clinton to win, so her turnout was going to be lower - Stormy accusations would have just increased the apathy because now Clinton will obviously win.

I have the same fears about the midterm - everyone is saying there will be a blue wave, that just gives people an excuse not to bother voting because everyone else is...

but not where it mattered. She won California 55 electoral votes by 3.3 million votes, but that doesn't help when you lose the 55 votes of Florida, Michigan, and Pennsylvania by a combined 147,000 votes.

No, BUT, IMHO, if the FBI memo BS had NOT come out, I fully expect she would have won. Because the people who were repulsed by Trump so much they were planning on voting for her jumped ship after that.

The Comey FBI memo release was pretty important I think. I don't think that the Stormy Daniels shtupping tale does much. But the $130,000 payoff by Cohen/Trump "might" have gotten some traction.

I think the Comey FBI announcement+ stupid campaign direction (hey kids, let's try to pick off Southern states rather than locking up Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan) was the difference.
