What's your opinion on...vaping?

Vaping...all the kids are doing it

Do you have an opinion about vaping?
In favor:
1) Less harmful than smoking tobacco.
2) Can be used to wean people out of cigarette habit.
3) Effective delivery for nicotine (one of nature's niftiest drugs).
Against:
1) Widespread use makes it easy for kids to start experimenting.
2) Attractive flavors not only lure kids to use, but adults as well.
3) Even though less harmful than cigarettes, still contains unwanted and potentially harmful chemicals.

any other arguments pro or con?

It's way better than burning the stuff and polluting my air with a witch's brew of toxins.
It's only vape jerks that love to blow out huge quantities of vapor. They are the exception, not the rule. And I laugh hysterically when their fancy devices blow up in their pockets, scorching their wedding tackle.

And my Mrs. was just given the verbal go ahead by her pain management doctor to look for newly legal cannnabis products for her fibro. He's not registered to prescribe (Yet, he says), but he won't test her for it. If she can get relief without opiates, wow.... Just WOW.

Im oversimplifying, but to me, its a gateway, sorta like pot.

Once you get bored with it, or it doesnt give you enough buzz, you move onto something harder to give you the buzz you cant get anymore.

Um... there are arguments that the 'gateway drug' theory is not particularly accurate. And appears to be less accurate as it's becoming more legal.

(Think of it this way.. people drinking beer don't eventually shift to drinking pure grain alcohol..)

One short non-essential anecdote:
So, a couple of years ago, I'm on the subway and there's this teenage guy vaping away. I smile and I say,'I hope that's hash oil'. I get a big broad grin out of him. jes jokin' around.

In favor:

Possibly less expensive than plain ol' cigarettes.
The vaping device is reusable.

Against:

More expensive than foregoing vaping/smoking entirely.
Maintenance of the vaping device, assuming it needs regular cleaning/sanitizing.
Not all of the components are recyclable? Maybe?

I neither smoke nor vape so I'm kinda sorta am guessing.
