He wrote a whiny mea culpa in an op-ed, because opinion pieces in large newspapers are a "good idea" while getting confirmed to SCOTUS?

That was a pathetic article, unbecoming of a judge. Also, while he was apologizing for being "emotional" and because his "tone was sharp" and was basically calling Dr. Ford a liar, he forgot to apologize for the multiple blatant and easily proven lies he used throughout the confirmation hearings. Oopsy...an oversight that I'm sure he'll correct in his next WSJ article..
