Just added a third litter box to the house, so I’m upping my disposal game.
The objective at the moment is secure odor containment, to avoid running to the dumpster twice a day, or even making the day’s trip optional if the Saturday or Sunday is a little lazier than usual.
I was looking at diaper pails originally; the lightbulb of an actual litter pail didn’t come on at first.
The Litter Genie doesn’t look to have a handle for schlepping from box to box, so I guess I’d have to use cheapy, small garbage bags to aggregate the poo and then drop that in the Genie. Workable, if a bit redundant.
Any experiences to share or tested and tried alternatives?

I use it.
Tried going cheap by filling with regular plastic bags (which will do in a pinch), but the best way is to use their own bags and I've settled on that.
Not so expensive if you buy on Amazon with subscribe & save.
No handle. Awkward to carry. Get one for each litter box.

We've used them for years. Yeah, no handle so you should get one for each box. PetSmart sometimes has them on sale for about $10 with one container of bags, which is usually $10 anyway.
They make an extra tall one now. It holds about twice as much as the original size. We have several litter pans in one area so the tall one works well there.
You can get "generic" refill bags on Amazon for about half the price of Litter Genie bags. They work ok in the original size Litter Genie, but they do NOT fit properly in the tall one. So we have to buy both generic and name brand ones. With 5 cats, we go through about one bag in the small one and one in the tall one about once a week. Each container of bags lasts a couple of months.

Seems expensive for what it is. Litterbox, pail, odor control, bags, etc
We use a large litterbox with a cover and disposable liners. Empty the leavings into a plastic grocery bag daily and change the litter once a week by picking up the liner, tying it up and placing in our trash bin.
litter: $6.95 e/o week
liners: 30 for $12, heavy-duty plastic
I think the litterbox cost us aront $25 around seven years ago.
All-in-all, a heck of alot cheaper than Litter Genie.
In spite of what you might think, there is no smell if you clean it every day and use odor-control house-brand litter.

I've had a Cat Genie for 3 years now. That is where it is at. No litter, no bags, no mess. Once a year I take the whole thing apart and spray it off with Simple Green and the pressure washer set on low.

Thanks for all the input. Feeling good about the Litter Genie. Unfortunately, my crew’s “work product” seems to outstrip the capacities of odor control litter and even daily emptying. Let’s see what the Genie can do.
