This is basically the same approach Apple took with the iPhone SE; that handset has a rather old design but has the same A13 Bionic chipset found in the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro.

The Apple Watch SE is tipped to cost the same as the Apple Watch Series 3, which starts at $199. So it could be the perfect partner to the iPhone SE come March 2021, when it’s expected to be revealed. And if Apple upgrades the iPhone SE at the same time, we could see a budget line of Apple devices expand into an ecosystem for people who don’t want to spend large wads of cash. “

If they do that it could have an interesting impact on discounts on the 6. I bought my 4 in June, after it had been out for 8 months or so, for $100 off the list price. If they sell the 6 for $400 and the SE comes out in April for $200 (although I'd bet it will be more--maybe $250...), I wonder if the 6 will discount to $300 in late spring/early summer?

What I'd really like is for Apple to put sapphire crystals in all the watches. My aluminum 4 has scratched much easier than I had expected. I'm pretty rough on it--I just wear it doing whatever I'm doing. The day I worked on the gutters and the crystal hit the edges of the shingles a number of times was particularly dumb of me!
