A federal judge in Texas blocked President Biden’s 100-day deportation “pause” on Tuesday, dealing a blow to one of his administration’s most significant early immigration moves.

Judge Drew Tipton, a Trump appointee, granted a temporary restraining order sought by Texas attorney general Ken Paxton. The order will be in effect for 14 days while the judge considers a broader motion by the state for a preliminary injunction.

Paxton, a close Trump ally, celebrated the ruling as a “victory” and declared Texas “the first state in the nation to bring a lawsuit against the Biden (administration). AND WE WON.”

Blocking the pause is not the same as forcing deportations. Start transferring some ICE supervisors to less desirable locations and the others will take notice.

Not quite sure a court decision saying they have to continue will hold up. Normally court decisions are used to prevent a process from going forward.

That's how it's always been done … but does "Good ol' Joe" have what it takes to do that? Stay tuned.

It's going to be another long four years. But as the President continues to remind us, we're in a battle for the soul of this country. And maybe more importantly, that battle isn't going to be won by the side that's just waiting around for someone else to go to war for them because the other side has already gotten their marching orders…
