Should I return the AirPad Pro's I bought?

I bought 3 pairs of AirPad Pros. 1 for the wife, and she likes them, and her Earfit Test works.

I have two other AirPads pros, and both pairs fail the EarFit test. Keeping getting the error, that I should adjust them or try a different size pad. They come with small, medium and large.
Everything I try, fails. Called Apple 3x. No Apple store open in Southern California. Made a Best Buy Apple trained appointment that was really a joke. Guy didn't know how to help, or what the problem might be.

I got these at Costco for $50 off, which was the best price going. Pro's, noise reduction , etc. But on my recent flight I didn't find them reducing noise very much. Maybe fit, I don't know. I do have them set to Noise Reduction, not transparent or off.

Its too bad, I was hoping for better support, or an answer. I read somewhere people are not passing the Earfit test back in 2020, and they were blowing out some screen, but these were used, and maybe got dirty.

Return and use the $ for something else. Glad I got them at Costco, I think they're a 90 day return policy for Electronics.

Opened, but only used a few times... you could consider selling them.

I bought these foam tips and like the fit much better than the stock AirPod Pro tips.

Those will go back to Apple. People buy semi truck loads of pallets of returns. There is NEVER Apple stuff in them.

Id like to think so, but no idea how that works with a costco return.

Would be interesting to know the exact process for apple items.

I know there are stories about warehouses full of amazon/whatever returns, but wonder how the initial sorting was done, or what criteria they use.

Are airpods considered "personal wear" like say, underwear... which Im sure is destroyed when retuns happen...

Since the tips come off i would think apple refurbishes airpods or at worst recycle. we’re costco members for a reason. return them though i might first try the add-on tips others have recommended as the pros are great when they fit well.

When I first tried out AirPods in an Apple store, they brought out a try of maybe 20 pairs, all wrapped in their cases.

After I tried a pair, they were put aside, and the next pair in the tray would be used.

I can't see Apple just throwing away every demo pair they had.

Sure they could afford it, but don't believe they'd do that.


I think the oval shape of the AirPods Pro may contribute to the failing of the test.

Without a good seal, the ANC won't be very good.

My pair failed the test with both the medium and large tips, and the Large tip wasn't big enough for one ear canal.

Because the tips didn't fit well, my ears hurt after a short period of wearing them.

And subsequent wearings resulted in my ears hurting sooner.

I returned my and got a pair of Powerbeats Pro and am fairly happy.

No ANC, but decent isolation without sound proofing, so I can listen to podcasts while walking in noisy ambient street sounds.

I sent mine back.
