Morgan Wallen likes to party without masks, which
cost him a guest appearance on SNL in October.
Now
he's been seen using the n-word in a video, and despite his 'heartfelt' apology, he's become
persona non grata to the Country Music Association and numerous streaming services, which are either banning or non-promoting his music.

How long until he cries about the loss of his freeze peach from the radical-left cancel culture agenda?

Sigh. Country has many of its roots in African music and African American spiritual music. Racists adopting it as their own is particularly amusing to me.

Mickey Guyton‘s lament ( in that CNN article ) about Wallen being “canceled” does not square with her claim racism abounds. I’m not clear on what she wants or expects.
If she feels he shouldn’t be shut down, she owes an alternative suggestion behind wishes and prayers that he was a different kind of person.
She’ll either accept his existence or other’s actions taken against him. I see much space her for anyone to exist in limbo.

And if it’s acceptance she prefers, then publicly complaining about racism doesn’t actually help the conversation in my opinion. She either supports consequences or doesn’t.

What are you talking about, deckeda?
She doesn't "lament" Wallen being canceled, and she doesn't bemoan any of the consequences he has incurred. She says she doesn't believe in cancel culture, and then clearly states, "
People must all be given a chance to change. Morgan must feel the weight of his words but completely throwing someone away is detrimental to anyone's mental health."
You've read a lot into her words that isn't there. She can simultaneously believe that he should face the music (as it were) for what he's done, but also believe that he should be seen as someone who is more than a terrible decision that he made. If Morgan does, in fact, "feel the weight of his words," he can do more than offer a two-bit apology, and perhaps he will.
Attacking a Black woman for expressing compassion might not be the best thing to do here.

I get all of that but she’s still making two disparate statements at once, for which I’m reading nothing into.

Long story short, Guyton says she is a woman of faith and despite the fact that the modern world scoffs, many people believe in redemption and that people can change. She probably would like to see Wallen have a change of heart and reject his current attitudes, more than she would like to write him off as irredeemable. It doesn't mean she accepts his current behavior.

I don't read any disparity in her statements. You can condemn an action without damning the person who acted. She is a Christian who believes in redemption, but in her worldview forgiveness comes
after sincere contrition, confession, and a commitment to change.
Try to see it from her perspective, instead of imposing your worldview on everyone else.
