Plenty of known side-effects, and not a lot of convincing scientific evidence that it has key benefits.

Talk to your health care provider, learn about the side effects (making sure none are potentially lethal for your specific health status, for example), and make an informed decision.

When I did some googling now, the links to proponent sure looked like advertisements. I do not see a lot of research papers from PubMed noting efficacy.

This project using dogs is interesting, but keep in mind dogs are highly inbred and even if rapamycin DOES help our furry friends, it might not help people.

The most recent research I've heard about is pretty convincing on the effectiveness side, but I haven't heard anything about side-effects. Links are welcome!

I know of no study showing a convincing reduction of age-related disease.

Plenty of side-effects. The wiki is a great place to start your analyses. Use the links to learn more,

It's an immune system inhibitor. Now may not be the time to start taking something like this for preventive reasons.

This convinces me not to mess with it.
