Well there is the pre-update steps:

A) Delete all "extra" apps from the watch in an effort to create space for the update

B) Unpair watch from phone because there still is not enough space

There's also a step 1b) Replace watch on charger after cat knocks it off, the go back to step A

much simpler method

1) Buy new watch with up to date watchOS
2) Sell old watch to a fellow MRF.

This is probably the fastest route. I could use a Series 4. My series 1 is getting long in the tooth.

My current watch is the MR1J2LL/A stainless/cellular. Apparently this is model 3. I'll be upgrading when the series 7 comes out later this year. I'll sell or give away the series 3 at that time.

In the end it took the Watch about an hour to upgrade to 7.3. It still couldn't pair to the AppleTV though. Apple support page said to add the appletv to my "home" app to solve the problem. I didn't even know what that meant. I tried several times with no luck until I rebooted both the appletv and my iPhone and THEN the appletv added to "home". Then I was able to use my watch with it. Bizarre but that's what happened.

I tried the 10 min and the 20 min beginners cardio workouts and it went well. I like how they have three people demonstrating what to do and each person represents easy/intermediate/advanced moves.

Frustrating, isn't it?

Since all Apple Watches support WiFi and Apple insists on the Watch being on a charger in order to update it, why does Apple insist on updating via Bluetooth rather than WiFi?

Updated my 2020 AW3 last night. Started before I began prepping dinner.
It was finished right after I ate dinner. Must have been because the original
OS was a 'recent' version.

My AW3 always says there's not enough space.

Which is weird because I have like 2 non-Apple apps installed.
