Former Olympic wrestler has finger torn off during MMA fight
#1
Hey, it could happen to anyone.

https://www.aol.com/sports/former-olympi...26073.html

Khetag Pliev, a former Olympic wrestler, lost a bout via TKO at a Cage Fury Fighting Championships on Thursday. The bout was called off when Pilev's corner noticed there was something very wrong with its fighter after the second round.

His left ring finger was missing.

Somehow, during the course of the second round of Pliev's fight against Devin Goodale, Pliev's finger had apparently been torn off. This is not an April Fools' joke, a man really lost a finger during a fight. CFFC president Rob Haydak later posted a picture of the damage(extremely obvious warning: the image is graphic and disturbing).

Human cockfighting

Modern day gladiators

I grew up a boxing fan. But I still enjoy watching this as well. It should be noted that none of these MMAs are top notch boxers. But would probably win a streetfight, unless the boxer got a lucky punch.

Boxers are FAST.
My dad was a boxer in his youth. He taught me to punch. My last school fight was in the mid 80s. The guy hit me one time. I popped him in the face 5 times before he got a second shot. My Gym coach grabbed my arm as I was loading up for knockout punch.

For anyone who is as disturbed by this as I am, here's a picture of a quokka to take away the horrifying mental image:

With what we now know about Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), I can’t see any reason for boxing. Human brains aren’t designed to withstand repeated blows to the head without incurring damage.

Looks good. Clean suture. Pink.

Doesn't look like it was violently torn off.

Pic is here. It's not especially gross.

Giving someone the finger should be a figure of speech, not literal.
