How was the Juneteenth holiday passed so easily?

I figured there would be lots more overt Republican racist opposition.

? - why, when it was Republicans who proposed making Juneteenth a National Holiday (even Trump was onboard with that - and made it part of one of his proposals)?

I did a Google search on both of those quotes and got nothing. Where did you get those quotes? (If you were being facetious - never mind.)

I wonder if 45* actually planned not to make it a federally holiday while promising to do so.

I would have assumed as much, but also wonder if he had actually tried, could he have got it passed.

I guess my sense of humor is a little too dry. he never said these things. But he might as well have.

Sorry, I suspected that but wasn't sure. I guess my sense of humor has dried up. :-)
