I am curious how about how accurate the predictions were for snow totals up there in the northeast.
I hope they were wrong and you guys didn’t get as much as predicted, and that your power stays on.

Western Mass, well specifically Greenfield has been in and out of the target all week, each major forecast model gave different scenarios. We went from the storm missing us, to a glancing blow, to being in the 12-18 inch storm area.
That said, as of 9:15 AM it is windy with a fine snow falling and being blown all around. Looks like a half inch of snow on the asphalt, with a bare spot from wind gusts here and there.
Very little traffic out there, lots of bird visitors and squirrels at our 5 feeders and 4 suet holders.
Just sitting here, reading this forum, and FB, and ignoring what my wife has on TV. Later I'll make some french onion soup and teriyaki steak tips for some comfort food. Then my wife will take over the kitchen to do trial runs on a couple cookie recipes for the cookie contest she's in next weekend.
We won't go hungry.

out here in western Suffolk the predict was 12-18".
so far, I'd guess, barely an 8 inch dusting.
Should be gone by July 4th.

"Doo, Doo, Doo, lookin' out my back door..." (actually out the side window) and apparently this is supposed to be going on all day and into the night.

Dave, since your wife is entering a cookie contest, she is prolly pretty accomplished.
I'll PM you my address just in case we don't get plowed for a week.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
By Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

This will be the first time for an official competition, still small city, hosted by the Rec. Dept. along with our annual winter fest activities. Before covid, we would have 'souper bowl' and cookie parties at our house where my kids always thought ours were far better than others brought. A few weeks ago my wife went to another cookie exchange party, invited by the neighbor that proudly said, "I won last year's event" at the winter fest. My wife says her cookies we 'meh at best', so she is having fun and concocting a very low calorie, yeah right cookie with chocolate, peanut butter cups, a crispy surface from crystalized sugar and a sprinkle of course salt on top.
We will see what happens and have fun.

Unexpected dusting in north Atlanta overnight, enough to cover the ground. The dogs had fun bumbling around in it.
