I have some FLAC files that I would like to add to iTunes. Converting to ALAC is easy enough but I'd like it to set the metadata correctly as well. I would prefer not to do it manually. What is my best method? I don't mind buying an app if it isn't too expensive.

XLD converted the FLAC files to ALAC just fine but there was no metadata. I see in preferences there is an option to "add tags if possible". Can XLD do a metadata lookup or does it simply convert what is in the FLAC file to the ALAC file?

It seems that I need to use the "open folder as disc" feature in order to get the metadata. I was dragging the folder to XLD and that generates the error message. I'm not sure what the difference is but at least it does work one way. Thank you!

I'm still waiting for VLC v4.0. VLC plays FLAC files, and the rumored 4.0 version is supposed to be MUCH more user-friendly and have a lot of features that iTunes has. Two years ago, they promised it would come out in 2021... still waiting.
