CAVeat(caviar) dreams?!....some caveats with the new Apple 'Studio Displays'....
#1
.....doesn't come with polishing cloth.....supports 5th-Gen iPad Air, but not the 4th-Gen or the iPad Mini 6.....the display stands are built into the display and are not interchangeable....

Apple's $1599 Standard Studio Display Does Not Come With a Polishing Cloth

....Apple's brand new standard Studio Display does not come with a polishing cloth included in the box, unlike the Pro Display XDR which offers a cloth in both the standard and nano-textured models.....

will have to polish......your own knob.....?!

Studio Display Supports 5th-Gen iPad Air, But Not the 4th-Gen or the iPad Mini 6

....According to Apple, the new 27-inch 5K Studio Display supports a range of Macs going back to 2016 MacBook Pro models, but its compatibility with iPads is notably limited to the 11-inch iPad Pro, 12.9-inch iPad Pro (third-generation and later), and the new fifth-generation iPad Air.....

some.....incompatibility.......?!

PSA: Studio Display Stands Are Not Interchangeable

....Apple's new Studio Display comes with three different mounting options - a normal stand that only tilts, a tilt and height-adjustable stand, and a VESA mounting adapter. What's crucial to note is that the stands are built into the display and, thus, are not interchangeable.

When placing an order for the Studio Display, Apple warns that "each stand or mount adapter is built in. They are not interchangeable, so it's important to consider your workspace needs at the time of purchase."......

not......interchangeable......?!

Typical Apple. What was wrong with VESA? Why not use that for all the stands like any reasonable company would.

Newt,

And looks like I won't ever be purchasing a Studio Display. I'd want it with the tilt and height adjustable mount, which is an extra $400.00. Seems to me, I'd be better served by forgoing the Studio Display in favor of the LG 27MD5KL-B, which gives phenomenal display quality, has the features of the Apple display that matter including a height/tilt adjustable stand and costs less than the price of the base version of the Studio Display with just the tilt capable stand.

Count me as another who can't figure why the don't use standard VESA. I've find the ability to move my monitors around gas arms more important than Apple's design/brand.

I have a drawer full of polishing cloths that I get with all sorts of screen-bearing electronics.

Just get a 200 pack of micro-fiber cloths for $20 at your local warehouse club.
