‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Teaser Reveals Natalie Portman as the New Thor

....After a break from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Natalie Portman is back and more powerful than ever in the first teaser for “Thor: Love and Thunder.”

The fourth film in the “Thor” series is directed by Taika Waititi, who helmed the well-received “Thor: Ragnarok.” The movie follows on the heels of “Avengers: Endgame,” which ended with Thor Odinson (Chris Hemsworth), adrift after the fall of his kingdom Asgard, leaving Earth with the Guardians of the Galaxy. The teaser begins with him as a member of the group, with Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel set to reprise their roles. Previous MCU actors Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, Sean Gunn, Jeff Goldblum and Waititi himself — as the rock gladiator Korg — will also return for the film, but the biggest moment of the teaser comes in the final seconds, when Portman’s Jane Foster is revealed as the new Mighty Thor.....

female.......Thor......?!

Well that looks perfectly awful.

Looks like a blend between Thor Ragnarok and Guardians.

I'll withhold judgement until I see it.

Exactly what it has been billed as since it was first announced.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Ragnarok, so I'm not holding my breath for this one.

I thought Ragno was the best one.

Most people do - I'm clearly in the minority with my opinion.

I thought it was dumbed down and untrue to the character.

Ill give you that.

Maybe it was the most "entertaining" of them would be more accurate.

The problem with staying "authentic" to the comic-character is that he's kind of boring. Interesting stuff happening around him, but there's not much of a persona to build a movie around.

Two one-note Marvel characters that I could never get into: Thor and Namor.

I'm glad they're bringing in Natalie Portman to switch hit. I suspect they've drawn all they can (creatively) out of what they've had to work with.

I agree with you re: the comics version of Thor and Namor.

I was never a fan of the Thor books, except for a brief run in the mid-'80s when he lost his immunity to being injured and his body began to slowly break down and he was eventually forced to wear armor to keep himself together.

Namor only became interesting to me when he essentially became a god. Until then, he always came across to me as just a bratty little punk.

Is Portman in the new movie? I thought she'd bowed out after The Dark World.

Yeah. Money talks. Plus, she's a key player in the next stage of the cinematic universe.
