allow me to stir the pot - '24
#1
the dems are apparently (finally) seriously thinking about who they should "run" as cc&bw for '24.

have any thoughts?

I feel JB is (still) too old.
KH is a glory girl and let her own down in the case of Kevin Cooper.

I also think the DNC should do their best to limit the field early, not have debates with 4 potatoes & 4 good choices.

My thought last time would have been Jay Inslee. Too old then, but.
Too older now.

Looking at dem govs by age (sorry, my 1st criteria)
A few are very close to my line of demarcation, 65.

"There is a fullness of time when men should go, and not occupy too long the ground to which others have the right to advance.”
Thomas Jefferson

Newson - Ca
Polis - Co
Pritzker - Il
Besher - Ky
Bel Edwards - La
Whitmer - Mich
Walz - Mn
Grisham - NM
Hochul - NY
Cooper - NC
Brown - Or

and a bunch of Senators.

I know very little about the Govs, except Newsom, Whitmer, Hochul, Walz.
All of whom (except Newsom, I think) are from 'pub' states or areas of their states.

With that list of possibilities, Brandon certainly has the inside track. Even at his advancing age…

'pugs (especially someone like Dumbf) would love to see "Newscum Newsom" in the race.

There are a couple of southerners in that list, which would resurrect the Carter and Clinton strategy.

Doubt that's still a viable strategy.

The northeast and the west will vote Dem, no matter what … it makes sense to focus on maximizing votes from swing states whether that's in the south or in the midwest - or both.

It is good that the DNC sees the issue with Biden in '24. I always felt he won simply because he was safer than Bernie and he wasn't Trump. That strategy isn't going to work again. You could argue that he lost 2024 when Maine reelected Susan Collins leaving the Senate deadlocked.

I would like a solid look at Tammy Duckworth. I think she could be a strong contender with a lot of crossover appeal.

Gavin Newsom may be sidelined before he can get started. Kimberly Guilfoyle was married to Newsom for five years in the very early 2000s.

However more recently, not only was Guilfolye an advisor in the Trump administration, she has been engaged to Donald Trump, Jr. since 2020. The engagement was not announced until January of this year, which, given those involved, frankly makes me wonder about any transactional threads in the alliance.

What Guilfoyle knows, or can claim to know or claim to have experienced in those five years married to Newsom could be pivotal for Gavin Newsom. Both have reputations for being rapaciously ambitious.

It has to be a woman. Hillary is too old.

Ms Duckworth is foreign born. Doesn't that prevent her from being pres?
Yea, Gavin past with loony lady would be a probable mess.
I agree, south and midwest are important places to "be".
I don't think it has to be a woman, and I think it very unlikely.
That boat sailed.
