The capital city of Mississippi with 160k people has no safe running water
#1
This should not be happening in 2022.

WtF did the state do with all the pandemic funds?

In past years neighboring towns have supplied water to Jackson at no cost. Ten years ago one neighboring mayor said the state had ro step up , it's the capital and the state uses half of downtown and pays the city no taxes.

This has been a problem for at least 15 years.

Gov. Reeves, a MAGA ahole, wants to lay blame on the city's Black mayor.

Ruling families of Mississippi care as much about the population of Jackson as do the ruling families of Michigan care about Flint!

I remember when England, or at least my section of it, had no safe drinking water. I believe it had to do with a water works strike. We were issued chlorine tablets to disinfect our own water. At least our faucets still worked.

Where DO you get your nonsense from?!?

”President Barack Obama declared a federal state of emergency, authorizing additional help from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.”

“In January 2021, former [Republican] Michigan Governor Rick Snyder and eight other officials were charged with 34 felony counts and seven misdemeanors—41 counts in all—for their role in the crisis.”

“Among the Michigan congressional delegation, only Representative Justin Amash, Republican of Cascade Township, opposed federal aid for Flint.”

“President Donald Trump's plan to fix the crisis in Michigan was folded into a federal infrastructure plan that had no direct reference to or specific proposal for the crisis in Flint.
