no, it means anyone (except felons) can carry a firearm just about anywhere without any license or training. Only the government can place restrictions (normally for schools and government buildings). Think of it like a cowboy movie in real life.

That's quite a wish list. I, too, hope that this will make DeSantis less desirable to the rest of the country. If it's going to happen, it should happen quickly, so there's plenty of time for non-insane Floridians (and there are non-insane Floridians, no jokes please) to let the rest of the country know what living in a fascist hellhole is like.

Florida governor Ron DeSantis traveled this week to New York City, Philadelphia, and Chicago to insist those Democratic-led cities were crime-ridden, although as human rights lawyer Qasim Rashid pointed out, Florida has a 19% higher rape rate, 66% higher murder rate, and 280% higher burglary rate than New York.

No matter. He’s telling his base what they want to hear. (Also, FWIW, rape cases require the victim to report, and as a victim, if you don’t think anything good will come of reporting, you may not do it).
