When washing up (especially me while cooking) at the kitchen sink, I often have stuff on my hands I’d rather not come in contact with anything. So, I prefer a manual arm that I can activate by elbow.

We had a Moen touchless faucet at our old house - couple hundred dollars in 2015, when we re-did the kitchen. (Looks like it’s gone up in price, or you’ll need to shop around for a deal now).

Visiting family were often perplexed (you can just use it like a regular faucet too- just use the handle, if you want, I said, which is true). It took some learning - you had to have the faucet pointed at you to work, but once we learned, I really liked it.

Now in our new (old) house, I find myself just putting my hands under the faucet to wash them, and being irritated when the water doesn’t go on.

PS- BTW, while Moen is not thought of as a top-end vendor, they are really, really good at support - like, call them, say I’ve got a 25-year-old Moen bath faucet, don’t know what model, and the handle broke, and they’ll say Send us a photo of the faucet, we’ll figure it out, and we’ll send you a new handle for the cost of shipping.

PPS - no batteries - power supply underneath the sink, plugged into the outlet that most folks have for disposals, dishwashers, and the like.

we have no plug under as disposals are illegal here.

I'm looking at a Delta which seems to go up $50 every time I click it.

I think the Koehler was around $800 when we installed in 2017 but the price is currently $936 at Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Kohler-K-29709-SN...YNXWYMOOLH&keywords=kohler+touchless+faucet&qid=1677338535&sprefix=koehler+touchless+fauce%2Caps%2C205&sr=8-7

I think my luddite spousal unit would shoot me at $900.
Even $300 might blow her mind.
She was the last of her friends to get a smart phone and refuses to put any, even helpful apps on it.
Fortunately, she doesn't wear a tinfoil hat.
She was "teaching" me about 5G just the other day, because I teach her about horses, turtles & fish. NOT!
I was shocked she got in the rented EV with me.

I have had that same Moen since 2012.

Works great. Mine works with 6 AA batteries and they last a long time.
