Why does every online recipe have a story?
I believe I've mentioned this in the past here, but I had the occasion to hunt for another recipe a little while ago and it prompted a google search. Apparently I'm not alone. I will say that at least now I see the reason behind the blathering on.
As Chris Rock (and at least one other comedian) said: "I'm not saying I agree...but I understand."

Interesting site, thanks. But my first search there produced:
No results found. (Right now we're only searching article titles, but one day we'll search the text, ingredients, and type of recipe... one day.)

A recipe is just a guideline, so I skim the "article" to see if the author offers any suggestions on alternative ingredients/methods.

Everything is word count.
I've noticed in a number of articles over the last few years, and even more so in the last year, an article will have a headline, but the lede is then 'buried' far down in the article.
It's teased in the headline, but then you have to wait through a lot of 'set up' before.
I've only recently started looking at 'how-to' cooking articles and found a similar thing.
I've also seen that in a lot of forums as well, so there's that.
And that's nothing compared to someone, say— stopped for a traffic violation.
Ask for an explanation, and one is likely to get 'When my grandparents first came to this country...'
'Line 20, press hard, three copies'.

I like reading (most of) the Comments. Sometimes there's good info there. But just as often there's that "This was great! I just substituted _______ for_______, and added a little ________. (because it was (too spicy/not spicy enough)"
But I really like when I discovered the "Jump To Recipe" button.

I hate the recipe industrial complex. And the other thing is that it's all (or 99.9%) female "authors." Like men never cook. Or, perhaps, these females are non-existent, and it's all about clicks....

Big Oil, Big Pharma, now Big Cooking?!
Men don't scream, men don't cry, men don't cook, men don't post?
It's women's fault that we don't see more recipes posted by men?
End this injustice and Take Back the Toque and the kitchen!
No justice, no Béarnaise!
Recipes now!
