The right-wing extremist Trumpistas are trying to steal your government

This is a long read, and IMHO worth it. It's basically a corrupt plan for imposing loyalty tests for government workers in a future Trump administration.

Hardly surprising, I would expect nothing less.

They absolutely are, in a big way here. They often hide their trump until elected, which makes it tough. Presents problems when Democrats have to consider voting for a non-bat-poop crazy Republican to keep a trumper out of office.

Thanks for sharing the article. More evidence that we are in for a dramatic decrease (or possibly functional end) of democracy and anything remotely like equitable governance by the federal bureaucracy if Trump is elected president again. We will be seriously screwed if he is. (Sorry to state the obviously obvious.)

I'm beginning to think this is like deciding whether to pull the bandage off slowly or fast. I just don't think the masses are capable of understanding the danger or even care.

If that's a joke, yup.

If not a joke, the first mistake is not to think of it as our government.

We used to have a system of patronage, and that is what the Hatch Act was created to defeat. That's why the government employees were hired with distance and protections from those who would demand political favoritism.

It's largely why we have that thing called civil service.
