The Canadian wildfires are wreaking havoc with air quality and sky color.
The air currents have been pulling down my way for several days now, stay inside if you have
respiratory issue warnings are in effect.
Sky, well more clouds and haze than sky have a kind of a yellowish brown hue, almost like an old black and white photo that someone tried to retouch, but did a poor job.
Even looking out to my backyard, granted it stretches out 350 feet from the house, you see a smokey fog.
A few more days of this before air stream moves on.

I didn't notice any haze or smoke today, in the Pioneer Valley, o at home in the hills. But my son siad it was miserable in New York City, with the burning smell and pretty heavy haze.

I'm in Greenfield, definitely an off color tinge. The thunderstorm clouds held the smoke down near us. I know that's spotty, as I was pelted with hail leaving work, but the ground dry at home, 6 miles away.

Sounds like it's better up north than a little bit south. Yesterday evening, we crossed the bridge over the Connecticut River in Springfield and it was so smoky that some of the buildings were obscured - and Springfield is NOT big. We couldn't see far down the river to the south and all the hills and mountains were obscured to the north. We could taste and smell the smoke, too.
Tried to take photos but my iPhone 13 Pro just made them look really weird. Any hints to take better photos tonight? It's supposed to be just as bad again.

From the AQI maps definitely worse to the West and South. Here in Greenfield the AQI is around 120, where some of my family live in Pittsfield it is over 200. South Berkshire County is also over 200. Springfield is currently reporting in the 160-170 range, Hartford farther south is around 180.

My son lives in Virginia, near the D.C. corner and they have air quality warnings now too.
