Trump wants to free all the J6 hoodlums who beat on the Capitol Police. He cares about cops the way that Gym Jordan cares about wrestling students.

Trump spends his time and lives his life in a "photo-op"world. He's lived in that world for at least the last 40 years since one of the real bennies of that existence is never having to face consequence for actions you put in motion.

This has proven true for his entire adult life and will continue to prove so until the Trump Train itself derails and ends up in total wreckage. To avoid that, he'll barter, sell or otherwise use any asset he can gain access to, that includes state institutions like the Treasury.
