They just like Trump. Infatuation manifests itself in different ways and it switches extremes. He's gone from criticism to sentimentalizing. It happens and it is especially fast with people who have no real moral center and are constantly glued to cable news outrage.

I'm a lifetime Democrat and switched to Republican two years ago just to have a vote in the primaries. When the general election comes along, it will be a democratic vote on all state and federal races (local races around here are decided in the primary, hence my party switch). I know quite a few locals who have done the same, for the same reason.
