Former Trump adviser Peter Navarro is bound for prison, after the Supreme Court on Monday denied his effort to remain free while he appeals his conviction for defying the House committee investigating the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
And...
Navarro must report to federal prison in Miami on Tuesday. He will be the first senior Trump aide to serve a sentence over his role in challenging the 2020 election.

4 months. He's such a sissy. He's a pretty interesting guy. Walking the line between Republican and Democratic policies. Did it so many times until he got caught up under the heel of Trump's shoe. They all think they can play Trump for their benefit. He just grinds their bones to bake his bread.

Not exactly related, but it looks like Trump wants to get the (felonious) band back together:
Former president Donald Trump is expected to enlist Paul Manafort…as a campaign adviser later this year, according to four people familiar with the talks.
… While no formal decision has been made, the four people described the hiring as expected and said Trump was determined to bring Manafort back into the fold.
Manafort…Manafort. Rings a bell, right?
Manafort worked for Trump in 2016 before being ousted and later convicted of tax and bank fraud felonies as part of Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 elections.
Wikipedia continues:
Manafort was prosecuted in two federal courts. In August 2018, [Manafort] stood trial…[and] was convicted on eight charges of tax and bank fraud.
Manafort [subsequently] pled guilty to two charges of conspiracy to defraud the United States and witness tampering, while agreeing to cooperate with prosecutors.
On November 26, 2018, Mueller reported that Manafort violated his plea deal by repeatedly lying to investigators.
I am shocked, SHOCKED!
On February 13, 2019, D.C. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson concurred, voiding the plea deal [because of his lying]. On March 7, 2019, Judge T. S. Ellis III sentenced Manafort to 47 months in prison. On March 13, 2019, Jackson sentenced Manafort to an additional 43 months in prison.
So, 90 months in prison - 7 and a half years. How long did he actually serve?
Less than 2 years total in a minimum security (ie Club Fed) prison. He was then released to “home confinement” (in May 2020) because of concerns he might catch Covid (wonder how many felons were sent home like Manafort?). And then he was pardoned by Trump in December 2020.
Wikipedia again:
The Republican-controlled Senate Intelligence Committee concluded in August 2020 that Manafort's ties to individuals connected to Russian intelligence while he was Trump's campaign manager "represented a grave counterintelligence threat" by creating opportunities for "Russian intelligence services to exert influence over, and acquire confidential information on, the Trump campaign."
But now Trump wants him working on the campaign again.
Only the best people.

As an addendum to the above, Lincoln famously selected a " Team of Rivals" to advise him during his tumultuous presidency, including several that had opposed his presidential campaign.
Trump? More like the jailhouse gang.
Incredible how far the once-great Republican Party has fallen. I hate to think of how old Abe might be spinning in his grave about now.

...and one more, though I apologize for getting rather far afield of the OP:
Sam Bankman-Fried came up with a lot of ideas to rehabilitate his image and launch a new crypto exchange after FTX went into bankruptcy.
Bankman-Fried thought he might “Go on Tucker Carlson, come out as a republican” [or] “Come out against the woke agenda”...
The GOP: the last refuge of the convicted privileged class.

Manafort’s Russian connections could bring in a lot of cash to the Trump campaign just like last time except a lot more.

Read an interview with Navarro and he knows he's going to Club Fed. He's been coached and he plans to play the full victim when he's released. Claims Trump has backed him all the way and won't need his pardon. Jackass.
